DOT Posted Speed Comparison
As your teen drives, their speed is constantly compared with the DOT Posted Speed Limit where they’re driving.
Competitors: Their ‘Speed Alert’ is just the maximum speed the teen’s allowed to drive, usually around 70 MPH. This is only useful on the highway. For example, you’d never know if they drive 40 MPH in a 25 MPH neighborhood.
You select how often the device reports, or ‘updates’, its location and speed
Choose every 10, 20, 40 or 60 seconds. Each has its own monthly flat-fee price. And you can change this in the future.
Competitors: They tell you the update time, which is usually the slowest: 1 minute (60 seconds).
High Accident Rates
Teens are 3 times more likely to be in a fatal auto accident than adults age 21-69.
Brain is Still Developing
The frontal lobe, responsible for cognitive processes such as reasoning, planning and judgment, doesn’t fully mature until age 25-30.
Thanks for the help getting Lyndsey through her “formative” driving years. we are moving on, and so is she. (We’ll be) using your service with Nicholas (our 13 year old) when he’s ready to drive. - Mark; Rockville, MD
My daughter is off to college soon. I have recommended the service to others–it’s great. - Susan; Hartford, CT
Thank you very much. We’ve had to restrict the 89 year old from driving…. It’s come in handy quite a few times. - Sandra; Bethesda, DC
I want to thank you for your great service – it has given my wife and me piece of mind knowing where our child was and his driving habits. He has recently turned 19… Thanks for the great help (in) using it. I’ve referred many of my friends to you with their driving teenagers. - Eric; Coronado, CA
I just wanted to let you know that the service provided has been the best. If there is ever a time that I can be of service to let people know the importance of your product, I would be more than happy to assist. Thanks again! - Mike; Lakeville, MN
Thanks for the great service over the years. - Charles; Austin, TX
(It’s) a great device and helped me keep tabs on my son while I needed to… I was even able to look him up and give him directions once when he got lost. - Robert; Hayward, CA
The product works great and was a worthwhile investment. When my truck was stolen, my DVD player, DVD collection, XBOX 360, and a bunch of other items were taken. But because I was able to locate my truck, I was able to get everything back. - Robert; Tacoma, WA
DOT Posted Speed Comparison
DOT Posted Speed Comparison lets you know if the vehicle goes over the posted speed limit on roads that have a US DOT (Department of Transportation) Posted Speed Limit.
HOW IT WORKS: The device in your teen’s vehicle is LINKED to our Computer Database of MPH specs of 3.9 Million Miles of Roads & Streets in the USA. As your teen drives, their speed is constantly compared with the DOT Posted Speed Limit where they’re driving. You can then see a daily & weekly summary of the % of time their teen exceeded this DOT Speed Limit.
Competitors don’t have this feature. They let you specify just ONE maximum speed allowed, usually around 65 or 70 MPH . But this is only useful on the highway. For example, you’d never know if your teen drives 40 MPH in a 25 MPH neighborhood; Or 60 MPH on a 45 MPH road.
A list of Speeding Incidents is emailed to you Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
You can see Speeding Information in as much detail as you’d like:
General: A Summary Chart (above) of # of incidents that occurred.
Detailed: A Listing by date/time (below) of all incidents and their location.
More Detailed: A Map (below) of where each incident occurred.
You define the MPH over the posted speed limit to trigger an alert, whether it’s 1 MPH over or 10 MPH over.
The database is continuously kept updated of speed limit changes.
You probably don’t want to receive alerts every time your teen goes over the DOT speed limit, although you can if you’d like as an additional option for an additional fee.
How to use this Feature to Prevent Your Teen from Speeding:
Firstly, using our database to constantly compare your teen’s speed with the DOT Speed Limit where they’re driving gives you tremendous Power and Leverage to keep them on the ‘straight and narrow’.
At the end of each week you’ll be able to see, in a summary chart (just like the chart above in the yellow box), how often they sped. Here you’ll see what % of the time they exceeded the DOT Speed Limit. Set a goal with your teen of, say 5% or 10%, which is an acceptable amount of time that they may speed. If they go OVER that %, you could punish them by taking back the car keys for a number of days (Or you could disable the vehicle’s starter as this product has this optional feature). They’ll VERY QUICKLY start obeying the Speed Limit at all times !! They must either follow the rules or they cannot drive !
Remote Starter Disable
This feature is optional to use for a small monthly fee. And a small $9.95 device is installed on the vehicle.
Note: This feature is available for the ‘Wired’ device only. The ‘Plug-in’ device does NOT have optional Starter Disable feature available.
You can use an internet-enabled PC or Android, iPhone, or other hand held device to disable the vehicle’s starter, which immobilizes the vehicle. Use to prevent vehicle theft or in case vehicle is stolen. When you disable the starter: If the vehicle is turned off, then it will not start. If the vehicle IS running, it will continue to be operable; but once turned off, will not restart.
You can enable the starter again when you’re ready, with an internet-enabled PC or handheld device.
A small device is installed on the vehicle, which costs $9.95. Then you have unlimited use of it to remotely disable/enable the starter for just $4.95/month.
Many Reports Available
You can run reports any time. Or have them automatically run and emailed to you daily, weekly or monthly.
View a report on the screen. Or save it on your computer – in MS Excel, Adobe PDF or CSV (comma delimited) format.
Monitor teen using many devices
You can monitor your teen even when you’re not in front of your computer. In addition to using a PC or laptop, see a map of your teen’s location using an Internet-enabled Android, iPhone, Blackberry or other hand held device to see vehicle’s current location.
With a PC or laptop, you can utilize all features.
With a hand held device, you can:
See current location and address.
See up to 100 last known locations.

Unauthorized Use – Set up the times of the day when your teen can drive, and receive alerts when the car is used outside those hours. You’ll know of all vehicle movement before and after your specified times.
Excessive Speed – Vehicle travels above a user-defined maximum speed allowed (35 MPH minimum). This alert is a compliment to the powerful ‘DOT Posted Speed Limit’ feature. Here, you can specify the maximum MPH the driver is allowed to drive. Tell your teen to never drive over, say, 60 miles per hour in the car. You’ll know right away if they ever do !!
Excessive Idling (Stopped with engine running) – It’s a waste of expensive gasoline and added wear on the engine to let it idle excessively. Now know if the driver is doing this !! Optional Feature: Starter Disable/Enable – Know if someone using the system has disabled or enabled the vehicle’s starter. Also good confirmation that’s it’s happened if you just did the disabling or enabling.
Optional Alert: Exceeded DOT Speed Limit – A list of DOT Speeding Incidents is emailed to you Daily, Weekly or Monthly. And you find out the total % of time they were driving over the DOT Speed Limit. Most people don’t want to receive an alert every time their teen drives over the DOT Speed Limit because this may mean receiving hundreds of alerts each week. So a summary each Day/Week/Month is best. But if you do want to receive an alert every time they exceed the DOT Speed Limit, you can for an additional $5.00/month.
System is very flexible:Alerts can be sent as text messages and emails to cell phones, PCs, etc.
Instead of receiving Alerts immediately during the day, you can have a report of them emailed to you Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
Alerts can be active 24/7 -OR- Just on specific days and between certain hours that you define.
You can receive pop-up alerts on your PC if you’re logged onto our tracking website. A sound effect can be sounded, if you’d like, to get your attention. There are 9 sounds to choose from.
